REVIEW: Danny Klein’s Full House @ The Bull Run Restaurant. April 22nd, 2011

Review, Photos and Video by Jerry Girard

Good Friday was Great Friday

The Bull Run Restaurant was standing room only for Danny Klein’s Full House. This new line up (I haven’t seen them live since the old line up) sounded the best I have ever heard them. They were tight and I believe the band had just as much fun if not more fun than the audience. With a crowd of about 300, i’d say that there were 250 people on the dance floor throughout the night.

My night began by meeting Danny and the band backstage and presenting DK with a Linda Jacque original piece of art from her Rock and Roll Tribute Collection (www.lindajacqueart.com).

This particular one of a kind bass guitar was painted especially for the Ace on Bass. After catching up with DK, Stevie G, Dave Q and Rosie we were introduced to Artie Eaton and Jim Taft for the first time (both a great addition to the line up), my date and I went upstairs to the dining room. As we were ordering, J. Geils walked by and sat two tables away. Naturally I stalked him and got a picture taken with him as we chatted for a moment about the Boston Legends Tour that just wound up. Jay was very accommodating and social. No ego there.

The opening act is Worcester, MA #1 new rock band Cougar Bait and warmed the crowd up nicely.

The band was slated to play a 90 minute set but ended up playing two hours and an encore.
The band was tight and simple. They get the Geils rock and roll job done.
DK’s Full House is a gotta see show if you are a fan and haven’t seen them live yet. The players are at their best and it showed with each song.

Two thumbs up!
